Os símbolos de Minerva
A finely carved Roman marble relief depicting the sacred iconography of the goddess Minerva (Athena). The composition includes the goddess of wisdom's crested helmet, spear, shield and aegis armour – both emblazoned with the face of the Gorgon – alongside her traditional animal companion and herald, the little owl (Athene noctua). From Roman Cosa, Tuscany, c.1st-2nd century AD, Cosa Archaeological Museum.
